Quran Page 18: The Sanctity of Mosques and Allah’s Vastness (Surah Al-Baqarah 113-119)
📖 About Surah Al-Baqarah (Page 18)
In Page 18, the Quran addresses the religious exclusivity claimed by various groups and reminds us that Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. A key highlight of this page is Verse 114, which speaks about the sanctity of Masajid (mosques). The page also reminds us that Allah is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, and when He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is (Kun Faya Kun).
🕌 Arabic Text (Uthmani Script)
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ مَنَعَ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ أَنْ يُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ وَسَعَىٰ فِي خَرَابِهَا... (١١٤)
وَلِلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ ۚ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ (١١٥)
وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۖ بَلْ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ... (١١٦)
بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ (١١٧)
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ الْجَحِيمِ (١١٩)
🌍 English Translation (Sahih International)
114. And who are more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques and strive toward their destruction?
115. And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
117. Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.
